Slightly watery and a bit too fizzy for my tastes after the first few sips. Mouthfeel - Slightly dry finish that is not unpleasant with medium / high carbonation. Upon further reflection though the sweetness keep shining through and there's not quite enough beer here to meet the demand. Second sip yields almost a pastry baking around these flavors of apple and rhubarb. Also picking up bready malts, rhubarb and apple as in the aroma. Definitely tastes like a cross between cider and beer. Taste- Sweet at first, but then the sour green apple kicks in, replacing the sweet. Almost detecting a hint of strawberry / rhubarb pie as well. Smell - Apple cider, rhubarb, some other sour notes as a melding of green apple and rhubarb. Some bubbles are clearly visible in the beer and there's a nice thick white cap sitting on top. Nice 2 finger white head with almost ten minutes retention time. 473 ml can from LCBO poured into a pint glass on a cold October day.Īppearance - A clear golden yellow spills into the pint glass.
